Abstract

In this research, necessary ergonomic studies are carried out for the development of a heavy goods transport mechanism scheme for the reduction of skeletal muscle disorder of the laborers of the supermarkets of the municipality of Yotoco, year, 2020.

A study was carried out with a quantitative approach, of descriptive scope, whose population was male workers in the supermarkets of the municipality, of which a non-probabilistic sample is taken for convenience to study, the inclusion criteria included people who work directly with the supermarket, who frequently load and unload.

As exclusion criterion, people over 60 years of age were not taken into account, for data collection, the questionnaire was applied, with prior and voluntary consent to each of the workers:

  1. Sociodemographic and anthropometric data: date of birth, age, weight, gender, dominance, work area and position.

  2. Occurrences of skeletal muscle symptoms were identified by applying the Standardized Nordic Questionnaire (Kuorinka, Jonsson, Kilbom, Vinterberg, Biering-Sorensen, Andersson & Jorgensen, 1987), at the same time, observational methods were applied for the evaluation of postures such as the RULA (Quick Assessment of Upper Limbs); 1993 by McAtamney and Corlett, University of Nottingham (Institute for Occupational Ergonomics). With which it was possible to show that the greater frequency of the problems muscle-skeletal present in the population sample indicates that they could develop low back pain, necessitating a change in the redesign of the task and urgent changes in the task are required.
