Green logistics and value creation strategies in the supply chain
Main Article Content
Abstract
Today's world needs companies that are sustainable in all their operational processes. Green logistics offers a number of important alternatives for generating value, continuously improving processes, and using resources efficiently. With this in mind, and considering the current need for companies to improve efficiency and operational performance throughout their organizational structure, we present a research proposal for the design of a green logistics and circular economy system that will improve the efficiency and performance of companies in the city of Barranquilla. Environmental strategies and effective use of resources will be applied with the aim of seeking economic and ecological balance between companies and the environment, in such a way as to produce a win-win situation and generate value for economic entities and a major positive impact on the environment, which is in urgent need of change.
All this would be achieved through a systematic combination of companies in their process of repair, recycling, reuse, and remanufacturing of products, adding a touch of environmental strategies and the efficient use of resources, thus generating sustainable income for companies in the city of Barranquilla.
Companies worldwide today use green logistics and reverse logistics as tools for generating value, contributing to good practices for protecting the environment and recovering many materials or products that were discarded from the supply markets and became a burden for companies, as well as being unproductive and an additional expense that had to be added to the budget for different periods.
