Abstract

This research article presents the results of a classroom project to determine the contribution of learning the terms “change” and “continuity” and its impact on historic time. The research process has a qualitative emphasis and it is supported by the analysis of speech by evidencing the terminology used by the students to describe situations and notice the comprehension reached about historic time. The intervention process is based on a didactic strategy about the discussion of a living social problem as it is the case of forced displacement. A situation that makes part of the context to which boys and girls belong in the formation process.  The results of the process identify through the use of the acquired student’s language an association of historic time elements with concepts like change and continuity, likewise, the use of time adverbs which appear on their speeches about violence situations presented in the conflict area in which they live, besides acknowledging themselves as subjects on a historic situation.
